Art&Science Flyer

The Art&Science department of the Univ. of Applied Arts Vienna had the need to update their informative flyer for prospective students, I teamed-up with Karl Kaisel and we choose risograph as technique.

The department’s graphical language has always been built by handwrite, collage, overlapping, and in-progress style. Risograph is known for its attractive errors of registration (when overlapping of colors doesn’t perfectly fit). Each copy it’s unique. We also used risograph as it’s known palette of pink-red-blue was referenced by department’s logo designer Matilde Igual long time ago and it was the best fit for our Art&Science team, as riso is one of the most eco-friendly ways of printing, using soy-based inks.

We also folded 1000 copies one by one on several steps because we are crazy.

They stand in an 'A' shape to catch attention on a crowded table of flyers, subtly reflecting the iconic 'A' in Angewandte’s logo. The flyers stood out beautifully when scattered around Angewandte's PSK location, creating contrast with their vibrant color.

We printed them at Soybot Vienna.

Connected posters

These three posters were made for a series of exhibitions organised by the Art&Science department of the Univ. of Applied Arts Vienna. Each contained the details of one of the exhibitions. When placed together on the wall, you could read the title of the series. This idea was connected to the topics of the exhibitions, titled Inside Out, True/False and Interference Practice.

DJ Logo

I did this logo for the DJ LAZ in Basque Country, and I was quite happy with the effect used on it. His music style though changed pretty quickly and he changed branding as well. So if you are in the industry and think this would work with your session style hit me up, I would love to work with this effect on a logo/branding that fits.

Some small logos

Here is a selection of some other small logo works (sometimes also business cards) I did in the past.

1. Japanese gagoin (signature for artists) for Hota, a Basque 3D modeler based in Tokyo.

2. Logo and cards for a tattooer with the nickname Lobo (Wolf), in Barcelona.

3. Logo and cards for a photographer named Xabier Astigarraga. His technique was extremely precise, but his work had a flare of simplicity. We used some of his signature elements, like the square format of his pictures and the turquoise colour, with a very stable shape for the logo, that playing with full and empty shapes was reminiscent of the sculptor Oteiza's work, a strong Basque figure also related to Xabier's interests.

4. Cards for Ane Martín Anduaga, of the Department of Genetics and Leicester University. Also, a logo experiment with her second surname.

Lettering experiments

Some tests for lettering shapes and effects!
This type of experiments are useful because they are made without a particular briefing in mind, and can become handy when creating logos and visual identities later on.
